Write simply in your wine journal. Don’t be wordy, don’t be overly syllabic, just use singular words, or two or three word expressions. Embrace your reactions! And forget about the descriptors you read in publications! Use the language you know. And no, this is not the English Professor in me writing. This is the HUMAN wine lover who just wants to sip my wine and have fun, but also think a bit further about it: what am I getting, what’s in the nose and on the palate.. Start writing and enjoy your own words! You never know when you may have to reference those notes and look back to what you were thinking when you tried the wine for the first time.
