Sue Straight, a long-time wine industry professional, freelance writer and wine judge, leads a wine-drenched life and she absolutely loves it. Sue is enjoying a career that has spanned over 30 years in sales, marketing and management with wineries that include Windsor, Foppiano, Fieldstone, White Oak, Alderbrook, Davis Bynum, Lambert Bridge, Limerick Lane Cellars, Hop Kiln Winery, Clos Pegase Winery, J. Rickards Winery, Martin Ray Winery and more. Sue currently works at Keller Estate, where she is happily running all things DTC as Direct Sales Manager. Sue’s latest wine-drenched adventure is launching Back Label Girl™, a full-service wine writing company that specializes in back label, web, email and direct mail content. Sue is also Founder/Proprietor of DTC Winery Coach, a DTC consulting firm for wineries. Sue also writes for Wine Country This Week Magazine, Wine Country Lifestyle Magazine, does freelance writing projects and writes her own wine blog as The Wine Wench®, and now Throughout her career, Sue has judged numerous wine competitions, including the San Francisco Chronicle International Wine Competition, International Women’s Wine Competition, Pacific Rim Wine Competition, Grand Harvest Awards, Lake County Wine Competition, El Dorado County Fair Wine Competition, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon Shootouts and more. Sue’s mission for the last 30 years has been to gently educate people about wine. One of her favorite sayings is “Wine should be fun!”
