Chicago is well known for its Architecture, the Arts, Industry, the Largest Library in the United States, and their Great Food, so why not the first and oldest Wine Tasting Event?


Geja’s Café proudly announces the 43rd Annual Pro/Am Wine Tasting Contest held on Sunday November 6, 2016 at 1 p.m. This venue is the longest running wine tasting event to take place at the city’s first and oldest wine bar, Ceja’s Café.

The restaurant was established in 1965 and is renowned across the nation. Ceja’s Café is best known for their fantastic food and great customer service “Named one of the best restaurants in the country for exceptional fondue by the Wall Street Journal, and an ideal destination to celebrate an anniversary by The New York Times, Geja’s Café was recently voted as the nation’s Best Romantic Restaurant by USA TODAY readers.”

The Annual Wine Tasting Contest is open to anyone, and participants must be 21 years of age and older, and pay a $30.00 entrance fee. Tickets are available by calling Geja’s Café at (773) 281-9101. Participants will take part in sampling 8 different carafes of wine and are required to distinguish varietals, origin, and vintage of each wine. The winner of the contest will be awarded an engraved crystal wine decanter. Amateurs as well as pro’s get a chance to go one on one in this “Battle of the Palates.”
