As we approached the Estate we were fascinated by the beauty of the hillside with green plush vineyards. The day was beautiful and the steep landscape in contrast with the blue sky gave a feeling of captivation. We were greeted by Ambassador/ Certified Sommelier Ronald Plunkett who was quite debonair to say the least. His warmth and charm was inviting and made us feel very welcomed. We were led to the main courtyard and seated next to an infinity pool, with breathtaking views of the Napa Valley which overlooking enchanting vineyards.
Ambassador Plunkett offered us with a delectable 2013 Seta Estate wine made from 58% Semillon and 42% Sauvignon Blanc. The wine was crisp and refreshing with hints of melon, peach, citrus, savory herbs and had a slight mineral note to it. It was a great inviting introduction to Signorello wines.
As we were enjoying the great wine and magnificent view of the valley, Ambassador Plunkett presented us with an enticing Antipasti prepared by Executive Chef Britny Sundin. The Antipasti selection of Artisanal cheeses, cured meats, olives and nuts were the perfect complement to the wines we were about to encounter.
The tasting continued with a 2013 Hope’s Cuvee Estate Chardonnay that had distinctive aromas of meyer lemon, peach, honeysuckle, and vanilla, with rich flavors of peach, citrus, baked apple and vanilla, followed by a long lasting finish.
The beginning of the reds started off with their 2012 Pinot Noir, Nobles which had wonderful notes of rose pedal, strawberry, and a touch of fresh ground pepper to the nose. The wine was medium bodied and paired well with the Antipasti.
The next red was an excellent 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate made from 93.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6.5% Cabernet Franc. This great wine was made in the classic French style, which was very pleasing to the pallet, and had mild tannins which made it very approachable again pairing perfectly with the meat and cheeses.
The last wine that we enjoyed was the 2012 Padrone, Estate. This big and bold Proprietary Red Blend was made from 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc and had deep complex flavors that were absolutely wonderful. The rich long lasting tastes left us feeling completely satisfied and wanting more.
Finishing the fantastic tasting we were privileged to a guided tour of the Signorello Estate. A walk through the vineyards with Ambassador Plunkett proved to be an enchanting experience. We talked about the history of the vines, and the Signorello Estate and winery. We journeyed up to the exterior winemaking facility and were given a custom tour of the winemaking process at Signorello Estate. Ending the tour in the wine tasting room and dining area, we enjoyed the family-like atmosphere and were left with a feeling of intimacy and friendship. Ambassador Plunkett was sophisticated and refined with expertise knowledge and comprehension of the Signorello Estate. We were thoroughly satisfied and impressed with our visit and look forward to our next visit.
